Web & UX Designer based in Cape Town with 4+ years of experience crafting intuitive digital experiences.

Designing professional, user-focused websites that are both beautiful and functional.

I specialise in designing and developing modern websites that balance aesthetics with usability. With around 5 years of experience in web and UX design, I focus on understanding client goals and translating them into engaging digital experiences that follow current design and usability trends.

My work spans multiple areas of digital design, including front-end development, responsive websites, landing pages, email design, and UI/UX for web applications. I combine design thinking with technical implementation to create solutions that are both visually compelling and highly functional.

Alongside my freelance work, I am completing a BA in Information Science at UNISA, where I am expanding my knowledge of human-computer interaction, data management, and information systems. I am currently in my final year.

Freelancer

I work as a freelance Web and UX Designer, delivering digital solutions for clients across different industries. My work includes designing and developing responsive websites, creating wireframes and prototypes, building high-converting landing pages, and designing email templates and marketing assets. I regularly work with WordPress, Elementor, and modern front-end technologies, while also using Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop and Illustrator) to design visual assets, graphics, and UI components. My freelance projects involve collaborating directly with clients to understand their business goals, translating their requirements into user-focused designs, and delivering professional, functional websites aligned with modern UX and design trends.

I participated in the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme at RLabs, where I gained foundational training in web development and user experience design. During this internship, I developed practical skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while learning the principles of responsive web design and front-end development. I also completed the Google UX Design Fundamentals certification, where I gained experience in user research, wireframing, and designing user-centered interfaces using Figma. In addition, I worked on web design projects, created UX prototypes, and explored no-code app development using Glide, helping me build a strong foundation in modern digital product design.

Junior Software Developer

I worked as a full-time Junior Software Developer at Web Xperts, a medical software company and the creators of Clinic Manager, a system used by healthcare providers such as Melomed Private Hospitals. My responsibilities included assisting with the development and maintenance of software systems using ASP Classic, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, as well as supporting database management and system functionality. In addition to software development, I designed and maintained websites for medical professionals, developed WordPress websites, and supported server and domain management. I also contributed to technical SEO improvements, including resolving 404 errors, implementing metadata, tracking conversions through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and conducting technical audits using SEMrush. My role also involved client support and software training, where I created learning materials and trained hospital staff on using internal systems. I regularly worked on-site at Melomed Hospitals, assisting with system support, administration, and technical troubleshooting.

At 3by2, I worked as a Digital Support Officer, supporting the design, development, and maintenance of WordPress websites for international clients. My responsibilities included building and maintaining websites using WordPress and Elementor, developing custom WordPress themes, and translating Figma designs into fully functional web pages. I also supported website performance and search optimization by resolving 404 errors, addressing SEMrush audit issues, implementing metadata, and tracking conversions using Google Analytics. In addition, I worked with Git for version control and development quality assurance, ensuring that updates and changes were properly managed and deployed.

My role includes building and managing pages using WordPress, Elementor, and Divi, as well as maintaining site performance and ensuring a smooth user experience for students and visitors. I create and implement website layouts based on Canva design assets, convert them into responsive WordPress pages, and ensure the website remains up to date and optimized. I also manage technical SEO, including resolving 404 errors, fixing SEMrush audit issues, implementing metadata, and monitoring analytics performance to improve visibility and user engagement.
